In light of the Badgers winning the Capital One Orange Bowl, the Utes taking home the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl crown and an undefeated mark for the often-ridiculed B10, it’s been a rough bowl season for my picks.

Heading into the final six games of the college football season (SAD!), I am 17-17 with my picks. Although, I am on a five-game win streak after going 4-0 on Saturday!

Now here are my picks for New Year’s Day. Enjoy the pigskin and Happy New Year!

Outback Bowl
Michigan Wolverines (8-4, 5-4 4th B10 East)                    -8.0
South Carolina Gamecocks (8-4, 5-3 2nd B10 East)       O/U: 42

Jadeveon Clowney ain’t walking through that door. With QB Brandon Peters returning under center, the Wolverines will lean on their committee of running backs even more than usual and that’s a good thing. Take Michigan on the moneyline to grind out a 17-10 victory over ‘the other USC’ and give my beloved B10 an 8-0 bowl season, but choose the Gamecocks against the spread. I think the under hits in a big way. in this matchup.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
UCF Knights (12-0, 8-0 1st AAC East, Won SEC Title Game)             O/U: 67
Auburn Tigers (10-3, 7-1 T-1st SEC West, Lost SEC Title Game)      -9.5

UCF is a cool story and all, but I’m sorry, they’re going to have to show me they can play with a team like Auburn before I buy. The Knights have had the athletic advantage over most of their opponents so far so it will be interesting to see how they handle being overmatched in a physical sense for the first time this season. Add the Scott Frost factor of him having 1.5 feet out of the door and in Lincoln, I doubt he will have his team’s full concentration with that in the back of their minds. My hunch is to take Auburn big on the moneyline and to cover in impressive fashion, 42-21.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9-3)             Over/Under: 67
LSU Tigers (9-3, 6-2 3rd SEC West)         -3.0
12:00 p.m. CT • ABC • Broadcast Team: Mark Jones, Rod Gilmore, Quint Kessenich

Don’t believe the hype. LSU will handle Notre Dame, 21-10. The last time the Fighting Irish were on the national stage, they were embarrassed and I think it’s going to happen again so take the Bayou Bengals to cover. The Tigers are more talented than that Miami club. The over/under score seems pretty high to me so definitely take the under.

Rose Bowl presented by Northwestern Mutual
Georgia Bulldogs (12-1, 7-1 1st SEC East, Won SEC Title Game)           -2.5
Oklahoma Sooners (12-1, 8-1 1st Big 12, Won Big 12 Title Game)       O/U: 61
4:00 p.m. CT • ESPN • Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Tom Rinaldi, Maria Taylor

I think Georgia has the ‘Dawgs’ to contain Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Baker Mayfield. Georgia’s duo of stud tailbacks will take of the rest so take Georgia on the moneyline and to cover that 2.5-point spread with a 45-28 victory, which will crush that over/under.

Clemson Tigers (12-1, 7-1 1st ACC Atlantic, Won ACC Title Game)       O/U: 47.5

The reigning national champs are 3.5-point underdogs on a neutral field? This the Alabama mystique at work, but this is just how Dabo Swinney would script it. After almost a month of playing the disrespect card [How often can the defending national champions do that????], the Tigers roll the Tide, 28-10. I think the under is a pretty safe in this contest.
